MG Naturals Airbrush Miracle Liquid Foundation With No Titanium Dioxide Review
Studying Beauty Therapy and Make-up artistry I am very choosy when it comes to makeup – especially foundation. Unfortunately there is a lot of hype about certain foundations – and quite frankly I find that they either leave my skin cakey, dry, or orange. However today I would like to introduce you to a natural foundation that gets my tick of approval – it is silky to apply, leaves a natural dewy finish and best of all it is nourishing to the skin.
Scoring rave reviews from every corner of the internet, Mg Naturals Airbrush Miracle Liquid Foundation is fast becoming a “must-have” foundation in the natural beauty makeup bag. I got my hands on this a few months ago from owner and mumtrepreneur Kailah. MG Natural stands for Mama Going Natural – and that is exactly what Kailah did. The company started when Kailah went in search of a non-toxic and natural sunscreen to use on her family – with the options bleak she decided to make up her own sunscreen. The company has now evolved from that first bottle of sunscreen – she also makes lip stains, mineral powders, foundations and blush – all with clean and pure ingredients.
Today I am going to demonstrate and review the MG Naturals Airbrush Miracle Liquid Foundation along with a few other products from MG Naturals. Keep in mind that while I have gone for a natural application – you can easily create a more heavy coverage by building up the application.
MG Naturals Airbrush Miracle Liquid Foundation ReviewColour: The foundation comes in three tones which adjust and blend into your natural skin tone beautifully. If you need to alter the colour then you can build colour and match your natural complexion by buffing your skin with one of the 5 different Airbrush Miracle Mineral Powder Foundations. Simply add layers gradually to build up the coverage to suit you best. The three colours the foundation is available in is
- IVORY FAIR – the lightest colour & is best suited to those with very fair skin tones
- CREAMY NATURAL – a beautiful light neutral medium tone that will suit most skin types
- WARM HONEY – a lovely warm, tanned colour that looks great on those with warm skin tones.
Application & Texture: The application of this foundation can be with your hands, foundation brush or damp sponge. The foundation is of a silky consistency, which requires little blending. However, I still prefer to apply with a damp blending sponge, as it helps the foundation melt into the skin, leaving you with dewy and velvety (and not cakey) complexion. (NOTE: in picture below I am applying foundation with foundation brush, followed by MG Naturals Mineral Powder and then MG Naturals Blush)
Coverage:This is a buildable coverage foundation, which is great for those that need just a little help with evening out the skin tone and equally as great for those beauties that want more coverage. You can use this as an under-eye concealer also – once you get the face coverage you require -take a small brush and dab foundation under eye area.
My natural base is complete. All I need now is some lip tint and mascara – easy natural makeup for a casual day out
Ingredients: Organic Aloe Vera, Organic Apricot Kernel Seed oil, Organic Macadamia Nut oil, Organic E wax, Organic Vegetable Glycerine, Leucidal, Organic Carrot Seed oil, Vitamin E, Zinc Oxide, Pearl Mica, Organic Essential oils of Rose, Geranium & Vanilla, Vitamin E, Organic Kaolin Clay, Iron Oxides +/-
Overall: Overall, I’ve found that this vegan and cruelty free foundation is my new go-to foundation.
It was velvety and smooth to apply. Once applied it was ultra light, breathable and felt like I was wearing no makeup. The natural oils in this foundation made it super hydrating – hence it didn’t settle into my fine lines or leave my skin dry and cakey.
The reflective silk mica works at diffusing the light – which helps with reducing appearing of fine lines and imperfections while giving a subtle glow to the skin.
Like most foundations on the market there is zero Titanium Dioxide in this foundation. What does this exactly mean? Well….there is an overwhelming amount of evidence that Titanium Dioxide is a carcinogen in addition to not being photo-stable – meaning that when you expose it to light on your face it creates free radicals that in turn ravage your skin cells.
Also I must mention that there are no nasty preservatives in this foundation. Leucidal is used as the preservative and is a natural extract derived from radishes that have been fermented with Leuconostoc Kimchii (the lactic acid bacteria that is traditionally used to make Kimchi). Leucidal liquid is approved by ECOCERT as a preservative in certified organic cosmetics. The addition of Leucidal makes the foundation spoil free for 12 months.
